<< back to Diet-Router

The diet-router supports remote syslog and klog logging as well as logging to local files, but (of curse) it does not listen on incoming syslog messages.

I recommend to use remote logging via syslog. The reason is, that diet-router runs in memory only and there is no possibility (yet) to permanent store the logs. So, if you decide to use local logging, all information is lost after powering off your diet router.

The disatvantage of remote logging ist the connection less udp protocoll and the unencrypted syslog protocl.
